Sources for Support
There are several online communities for Oligo survivors and caretakers that can be helpful in a number of ways. Perhaps most importantly, these groups can address questions and concerns you may have on any number of topics including medical treatments (how they affect you, when in the journey they make sense), recommendations for alternative/incremental approaches (diet, supplements, etc), and treatment centers/doctors. The communities can also offer emotional support when you are going through tough times.
The downside for some of us is that there can be a tendency for a few people to just dump their problems and issues on these sites. Since most of us have pretty full plates when it comes to things to worry about, it can be important to identify the people whose posts you don’t want to readJ
